Casa Lomas Apartments, The Dalles, Oregon

MCE provided structural engineering services for this multifamily residential project. The project consisted of three different two-story buildings and a clubhouse for a combined 26,000 square foot structure. Wood was used as the primary building material for the 25-unit complex with light wood-framed shear walls to resist the lateral load. MCE design services included schematic design, final design and construction administration, which included site visits during construction. The site is located in Zone 3 with a required 90 mph, exposure B wind loading.

Best Western Hotel, Bessemer, AL

This four-story hotel in Bessemer, Alabama, has three levels with a daylight basement with approximately 8,500 s.f. on each level. Cantilever concrete retaining walls were used at the lower level, while wood was used as the primary building material for the upper stories. Light, wood-framed shear walls were utilized to resist the lateral load.

    

Stillwater Apartment Complex, Hillsboro, OR

This multifamily residential project consisted of four, three-story apartment buildings and two, one-story general use buildings with a combined square footage of 85,000. Wood was used as the primary building material for the 84-unit complex with light, wood-framed shear walls to resist the lateral load.
